We had this too. Remember I posted a photo of my beautiful pieris with new red growth, well the next day or so, this lovely growth had all gone brown. The snow had killed it off! x
I felt like Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now:" the horror, the horror, the horror." Sheila glides into the shadows and hides her face (although I guess that should be half my face if I really want to emulate Brando).
I hate this weather. It's far too cold. My old bones are creaking now.
Well, Spring was here 
but the poor plants have been taken for a ride
they were tricked into thinking they could grow safely in the warmer days to come
but today they are shivering under a few inches of surprise snow and it's minus one Celsius!
