It's our Anniversary!

Actually, I'm jumping the gun a bit. January 11th 2007 was the day of our very first post on this blog and I'm writing this on the evening of the 10th. I'm just so excited ;o)

To celebrate, we're giving away some goodies. This beautiful bag that Katherine made....

a knitting book that I have owned for many years (it's like new, I have never knitted anything from it, even though the patterns are lovely, including classics like arans and fair isles that will never go out of style)....

and Samantha is donating a bar of chocolate (brand as yet undisclosed - let's call it a mystery bar of chocolate!).

All three of these items will be packaged up and sent to one lucky person. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post. And if each of you could recommend our blog to just one other person, that would be great.

We love to receive comments, so we like to draw out you lurkers now and again with these giveaways, but we hope you will comment more often so we know we're not just talking to ourselves)!

Edited to add: I forgot to give a deadline for comments...please respond by Wednesday January 16th and we will draw the winner then. And we are willing to mail anywhere in the world.

Happy Anniversary to all you girls. What lovely giveaways, although I don't expect to be included as the postage to England will be too much. I am not a lurker and shall be looking in at your future posts and leaving a comment! x

Happy Anniversary! I love your blog...read it daily! Such a source of information, inspiration and entertainment;) So far thanks to you gals I have switched to organic/fair trade chocolate, got rid of my plastic bags, made plans for our first vegetable garden, put more holds on library books than I have ever in my life, attended the library sale, knit and handmade lovely gifts for my family and friends, changed our diet to eat simply, seasonally and locally and gone from anxiously schooling at home to joyfully learning through living and probably many other things I just can't think of at the moment.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Joanne

Yes, happy anniversary! I love reading your blog! I've got plenty of inspiration. My family has enjoyed several of your recipes! That one from Barbary Kingsolver's with the grilled veggies on it especially comes to mind... can't wait for summer to do it again!

You say it's your birthday?! What a lovely gift you've given to readers this last year. I'm a loyal fan and am sure to keep reading. I hope the four of you get together for a real-life anniversary party -- maybe you could knit and sew and bake and have a little book club and share all the fun with us readers? Thanks again for your time . . . --Nancy in NC, nancywalters44@hotmail.com

Happy Anniversary Friends!!

I thank each of you, for all your sharing on knitting and gardening. So much so, that by reading them I picked up my needles after 15 years of idleness!! You also have me reconsidering gardening once again. This has left my desire for the past 4 years after a 7 year organic market garden! Thank you Heather for that! I loved looking at all your canning!! Katherine your awesome creativity is a huge inspiration as well. My sewing machine calls! Samantha you always make me laugh! Love your humor. Nicola, wow, love your drive for smoking (not literally of course!) your needles and machine, now.... on all the projects you accomplish ! Also your wisdom on home learning is most inspiring and encouraging too! Keep on posting girls, I love visiting daily!!

Hi Nicola - I so enjoy your blog. I am a fellow home schooling mom, knitter, and vegan. At first it was the knitting that attracted me, but then the recipes and the environmental tidbits have me hooked! I love the pics of snow that are posted! Here in Florida it finally cooled off. Finally. We were still using our air conditioning a mere few days ago.

I use a cook book by Drenna Burton that I purchased in Victoria, BC. I love your neck-of-the-woods. Have been there twice.

I wanted to post this to your blog directly - but just cannot figure out how to DO that. Even my 15 year old computer literate child could not figure it out. I wanted to be in the drawing for the beautiful bag!

Keep up the good work - I love it all!

Your fan in Florida,

Linda

oh, what a GREAT blog, Nicola (and Katherine and Heather and Samantha)! I love it. If this doesn't get me knitting, I don't know what will. Oh wait, could it be tea with Alan?
