Things I have been lovin' all January

My family has had the most wonderful month...lots of sunshine, hiking, swimming and snorkelling, fresh eating, outdoor time, beach time and relaxing. It was just exactly what we needed. I have so (ridiculously) many photos so I will share just a few.

Hikes...

Plants and flowers...

Sunsets (and the fact that almost everyone stops what they are doing and watches them - night after night. What a great way to stay present in the passing of time and to really stop and appreciate each day we have on this gorgeous earth)

Beaches...

Cool Canyon
Little critters...

This one needs a bit of an explanation. We hiked miles down an old royal path over a lava field past a black sand beach to a secluded area. And this is what we found. A whole lot of plastic washed ashore. These things are killers for seabirds, turtles and I'm sure many more animals as well. Heartbreaking to see. Although my family has been working on cutting back our use of plastic for years this has encouraged us to do even more.

If you can bear looking at more photos of someone else's vacation then have a peek here for a lot more.

Have you this great scenery on your doorstep? Have you seen my pics from Tenerife, more lava! You appreciate everything around you like I do, your pics are great, I have enjoyed looking at them. Why, oh why do people drop litter, I thought our generation was brought up not too, I loathe it, and it is so dangerous to humans as well as wildlife. So glad you had a great January. x

Mmm, those are nice pictures! I'd love to visit there. I love the juxtaposition of fog and green. Gorgeous.
